Susan has been a licensed agent in Virginia since 1988 and in D.C. since 1991. With an M.A. in urban studies from Loyola University of Chicago, Susan entered real estate from a community service background with a strong focus on affordable housing issues. Originally from Iowa, she has lived in Arlington since 1981.
Susan has worked as staff and volunteer for many non-profit organizations. She has served on the Arlington County Citizens Advisory Commission on Housing, the board of the Arlington Housing Corporation, now AHC, Inc., and the Arlington League of Women Voters. Her children attended Arlington public schools, and she co-chaired the Drew Model School Association.
In addition to working with clients, Susan enjoys spending time with her husband and partner, Mitchell Schneider, their children and friends, as well as gardening and activities relating to her love of Italy--reading, cooking, and, as often as possible, traveling.
Licensed in Virginia since 1978 and in D.C. since 1988, Mitchell has helped hundreds of buyers and sellers over the years, finding huge satisfaction in doing so. Each year, about half his clients are new and half returning friends.
He believes strongly in the benefits, personal and financial, of owning real estate. "It was never my life's ambition to be an agent," he says. "But when I bought my first house and experienced the advantages myself, it seemed to me that everyone should do this. So I really feel committed to helping clients get comfortable with the whole process."
Milwaukee-born and raised in Boston and San Diego, Mitchell studied literature at the University of California and The Johns Hopkins University. Outside work, he likes to garden, read good books, and relax and travel with his wife and partner, Susan Sarcone, their children, and friends. He enjoys classical vocal music, and has served as a board member of Washington Concert Opera and the Eclipse Chamber Orchestra.
Welcome! I’m a passionate realtor, love interior design, and renovation expert with over 13 years of experience in the real estate industry. Born and raised in the stunning Schoharie Valley of Upstate New York, I moved to Northern Virginia in my early twenties and have called it home ever since.
While I’ve always enjoyed homes, renovations, and design, it wasn't until 13 years ago that I decided to turn my passion into a career by becoming a realtor. I’ve personally renovated my own residences three times, even acting as the "general contractor" on one occasion. I also flipped a row house in the Riggs Park neighborhood of Washington D.C with a good friend.
As an Arlingtonian for over 30 years, I have a deep understanding and appreciation for the community and the value of home ownership. My husband and I have raised three children and put them through the Arlington Public School system. We also have an adorable goldendoodle, Maisie, who occasionally makes an appearance on my social media posts.
Real estate is not just a job for me, it’s a passion. I love helping my clients see the potential in their dream home or investment property, as well as navigating the complex world of real estate transactions with ease.
